“Side Street in Boracay, Philippines” (2009)

$0.00

Acrylic on canvas 50cm x 60.5cm

Boracay is a resort island in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. It is about a one hour flight from Manila, and 0.8 kilometers (0.50 mi) off the northwest coast of Panay, where one takes a boat to the island.

A tuk tuk is either a tricycle, or motorcycle tricycle that is a taxi for more local trips- ideal for this small island. Motorized tuk tuks can be found all over S.E. Asia, especially in Indochina (Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, and a couple other countries). This was a small lane leading from the main road “downtown” on Boracay island back to western side of the island, onto White Beach (the main attraction for most tourists).
